Kemi Badenoch essentially represents what you could vaguely describe as what you could call the non Chauvinist centre right to Right wing message.
Yes she may be wanting to pull out of the ECHR but a key difference between her and Reform UK is that the Conservatives wouldn’t remove EU citizens rights as they are guaranteed by the Brexit TCA and withdrawal agreement.
A slightly low bar admittedly but it still marks the Conservatives out as a party that respects the rule of law in a way that Reform UK and parties to the right of it that don’t, it has to be said. The EU would probably apply the same policy to British people in the EU.
When it comes to the Conservatives. Badenoch seems to be starting to belatedly appealing to young people through their ideas on Graduate loan repayments, by attempting to build a fairer more equitable system around it. Though this is probably yet to be fleshed out.
While over on the other side you have Restore Britain who are going after the ethnic nationalist vote, how this impacts Reform’s polling level going forward will be an interesting one, with a recent poll putting them on 7%.
