As a party we face a challenge, the Labour party led by Jeremy Corbyn is ahead of us in the opinion polls. How should we as a party seek to correct this. Naturally this is a time for ideological soul searching. We look to figures such as Ruth Davidson, Jacob Rees Mogg and Dominic Raab to name a few for the years ahead from what was supposed to be the May supremacy.

As well as fresh Leadership at the appropriate time for the party. what we fundamentally need is to have a winning message that is both fiscally sound as a well as socially cohesive and morally just to those in our society that are struggling to get on and make life a for themselves. The young in our society are facing an insurmountable challenge. Lack of affordable housing, access to mental health treatment, a fair funding formula for schools, and cost of living issues are paramount to this generation, none of the potential leaders in the future can forget these issues for young people in British society today.

How we as a party and the community on the centre-right go about these is the challenge of our time. The solution requires highly strategic public policy thinking that is both joined up and sound. If we take government spending into account the way to go about reducing the economic pressure on people is to win the argument to end the 0.7% of GDP on overseas aid. Among young people concern for Internationalism may come to the crunch if that it was put to the younger generation what that could help to finance and fund and which would directly benefit them. Which This year amounts to £13 billion pounds. That could help to fund a government house building programme that could go some way to helping reduce the shortage of homes. If a way was found this could be tied to GDP % This could be overseen by a new Ministry of housing if you like. The benefit of this is that no extra Government expenditure would be needed from other sources when the critics say, well how will you pay for it?.

Furthermore, another issue of concern to young people is managing the crisis in mental healthcare provision and this is no easy task as it is such a complex issue to tackle head on. The issues are around, stigma, funding, and provision and reforming best practice among mental health training. Young people want to get on, make a life for themselves. A crucial part of this is having it as a smooth a process as possible I acknowledge for any young person this isn’t an easy task. If we manage the issues around it that I have outlined we will go some way to end this wrong, fundamentally this is an issue of social justice and decency .
